:The essential nature of God has been a subject of intense theological debate throughout Christian history. Among the various perspectives that have emerged, Arianism, Oneness theology, and Unitarianism stand out as distinct deviations from the orthodox understanding of the Trinity. This article presents a comprehensive rebuttal of these heterodox views, drawing upon the indisputable testimony of Scripture. By meticulously examining the biblical evidence, we will expose the flaws and inconsistencies inherent in these doctrines and establish the truth of Trinitarian orthodoxy.

Arianism: The Subordination of the SonArianism, named after its founder Arius, championed the belief that Jesus Christ was a created being, subordinate to God the Father. This heresy diminishes the divine nature of Christ by asserting that He was merely the first and highest of God's creations. However, Scripture overwhelmingly contradicts this notion.

Jesus is Coequal with the Father: Colossians 1:15-16 proclaims that Jesus is "the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation... For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible... He is before all things, and in him all things hold together." This passage unequivocally places Jesus on an equal footing with God the Father as the Creator and Sustainer of all things.
Jesus Shares the Father's Attributes: Hebrews 1:3 declares that Jesus is "the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature." Here, the Son is described as possessing the same attributes as the Father, including glory, power, and omniscience. Such a description would be impossible if Jesus were merely a created being.
Jesus Accepts Worship: Revelation 5:13-14 states that "Every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, heard me saying, 'To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!' And the four living creatures said, 'Amen!' and the elders fell down and worshiped." This passage explicitly depicts Christ receiving the same worship as God the Father.

Oneness Theology: Confusing God and CreationOneness theology, also known as modalism, claims that God exists in only one person, with Jesus and the Holy Spirit being mere manifestations or modes of the divine essence. This view dangerously blurs the distinction between God and creation.

The Trinity is Revealed in the Bible: Matthew 28:19 instructs believers to baptize "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." This formula implies three distinct persons within the Godhead. Likewise, in 2 Corinthians 13:14, Paul mentions "the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit." Here, again, three distinct persons are identified.
The Divinity of Jesus: The Bible repeatedly affirms the deity of Christ. John 1:1 declares that "the Word was God," and Philippians 2:6 proclaims that Jesus "thought it not robbery to be equal with God." Such statements would be nonsensical if Christ were merely a manifestation of God.
The Personality of the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is consistently portrayed in Scripture as a personal being. Acts 13:2-4 records the Holy Spirit speaking through prophets and calling out Barnabas and Saul for missionary work. Ephesians 4:30 exhorts believers not to grieve "the Holy Spirit of God." These passages demonstrate that the Holy Spirit possesses a will, emotions, and personality, which are incompatible with being a mere attribute of God.

Unitarianism: Denying the TrinityUnitarianism is the belief that God is a single, non-trinitarian being. This doctrine fundamentally contradicts the clear biblical evidence for the Triune nature of God.

The Plurality of God: Genesis 1:26 records God saying, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness." This verse implies a plurality within the Godhead. Isaiah 6:8 also speaks of God in plural terms: "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?"
The Son's Eternal Pre-existence: John 1:1-3 states that "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made." This passage clearly establishes Jesus' eternal pre-existence and involvement in creation.
The Deity of the Holy Spirit: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 declares that believers are "the temple of the Holy Spirit... whom you have from God." This verse attributes divinity to the Holy Spirit, placing Him on an equal footing with God the Father and God the Son.

:Arianism, Oneness theology, and Unitarianism are all heterodox views that fail to align with the biblical revelation of God. By meticulously examining the overwhelming scriptural evidence, we have established the truth of Trinitarian orthodoxy: God exists eternally as three distinct persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who are coequal in nature, power, and glory.

The Trinity is not a mere theological concept but the very foundation of our Christian faith. It shapes our understanding of God's love, salvation, and the nature of our relationship with Him. By accepting the biblical truth of the Trinity, we embrace the fullness of God's nature and experience the transforming power of His grace.
